One touch of Christ is worth a lifetime of struggling. In this world we will all experience some
degree of struggling and suffering; and Christians are by no means exempt.
This is a guest post by Beth Harris. She is a wife, mother, Bible study leader and volunteer editor for markalanwilliams.net.
I didn’t know that one touch of Christ could so radically change my life when I accepted Him in my late 20’s and I am so grateful for all He has delivered me from. I also didn’t know about
struggling as a Christian. I thought everything would go smoothly and it did for about the first two years. Then the trials came fast and furious.
I didn’t realize I would need to be discipled as a new Christian to mature in my faith and that I would need a plan for spiritual growth, so I could learn about sanctification, spiritul warfare; and so many other things. Over the years, it’s taken a lot of mentors, Bible study and sermons to grow. But, now I am thankful for the struggling that has brought growth. In addition, I know that God is with me through the difficulties and that He will use them for my good and His glory.
It’s amazing that just one touch of Christ can save, empower, rescue, deliver, forgive and heal sinners; who are willing to accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
In addition, one touch of Christ is worth a lifetime of struggling; when we consider the sufferings of Christ on our behalf. The Father wanted to give us one touch of Christ, so He sent His Son to bear the sins of the world to save us.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT)
God gave His Son, so we could become one with Him: Immanuel.
Matthew 1:23 says, “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God with us.’” (NLT)
Colossians 1:27 says, “And the mystery is that Christ lives in you, and he is your hope of sharing in God’s glory.” (CEV)
One touch of Christ is powerful enough to rescue us from the kingdom of darkness and bring us into His Kingdom.
Colossians 1:13-14 says, “For He has rescued us from the darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” NLT
John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” (NLT)
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. (Romans 6:18 NIV)
Whether our lives are short or long, one touch of Christ is more valuable than anything, because personal contact with Jesus changes everything.
One touch of Christ:
Cleansed lepers: (Matthew 8:2-3 NLT), (Luke 17:11 NIV)
Healed the blind: (Matthew 20:34 NLT), (Mark 8:22-25 NLT)
Healed the sick: (Matthew 8:14-15 NLT), (Mark 5:27-34 NLT), (Luke 4:40 NLT), (Luke 14:1-4 NLT)
And so much more as John 21:25 says, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of
them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (NIV)
