What Separates Christianity And Hinduism?

Christianity and Hinduism are both religions, but that’s about where the similarities end. There are vast differences that the average person doesn’t either know about or understand. Many think they’re similar, but they are not. Some Christians would say that Christianity is not even a religion, but a relationship.

My guest on today’s podcast knows intimately the differences between Christianity and Hinduism. He grew up Hindu in India, but later he found The Way.

In other “Christianity Questions and Answers” podcasts and blogs my guests and I have explored questions like Six Reasons all Roads DON’T Lead to Heaven, Isn’t Christianity arrogant to claim to be the only way to heaven? and Does salvation come only through faith in Christ? (Exclusivism).

But today we’ll look specifically at Christianity and Hinduism.

You might ask “Who is Jayakumar (Jay)?”

Dr. Jay was born and raised in Chennai (Madras) India to a staunch Hindu father and a traditional Christian mother.

Jay was more influenced by my father’s beliefs, values, and practices of Hinduism because his father was more religious than his mother. This deprived Jay of any Christian atmosphere and nurturing during his childhood and teenage years. Consequently, Jay formed a pluralistic religious belief.

However, in 1976, through God-orchestrated events, Jay came to know the true and living God by reading the books of John and Romans. In 1989, Jay founded Bible Believing Churches & Missions (BBCM) and continued to plant churches in Bangalore, India and challenge other church leaders to do the same.

Jay has diligently pursued advanced education. His degrees include:

• Doctorate degree in Ministry D. Min. (Miss) from Columbia Intel University, USA

• Masters degree in Sacred Theology (STM) from Dallas Theological Seminary, USA

• Masters degree (M.Th) in Bible Exposition from Asian Christian Academy

• Masters degree (M.A) from the University of Madras

Creation and evolution are huge topics for Christians. Why? Because strict evolutionists deny the existence of a Creator. They seek an explanation for the universe that doesn’t include the Supernatural God of the Universe.

What do Christians believe about creation and evolution? Christians seek to understand adaption (evolution) from a Christian and Biblical perspective. They wonder, “Is there any truth to evolution?”

This podcast will help to answer some of your questions about creation and evolution from a biblical, Christian perspective. Specifically, we address:

• Were dinosaurs in existence before or after the creation of Adam and Eve?

• What about Neanderthals. Did they exist and have souls like human beings?

• What is the age of the earth vs. the Biblical time frame?

• Do science and Christianity conflict?

These are some of the questions about creation and evolution that we address in this podcast.

What Will Happen In The End Times?

Many people wonder what will happen in the end times. What does Bible prophecy say? It seems like the world is getting more tenuous and the end is getting nearer. What will happen then?

In this podcast Dr. Hal Seed and I share about End Times events. It was recorded live at New Song Community Church in Oceanside, CA. Pastor Hal Seed and I were answering questions posed to us live that day.

This podcast release is timely in the light of the death a few days ago of Dr. Tim LaHaye at age 90. He was the co-author with Jerry Jenkins of the mega best-selling “Left Behind” series of novels on the end times. The Left Behind series sold over 62 million copies worldwide.

In addition, his ministry bio noted that:

He also founded two accredited Christian high schools, a school system of 10 Christian schools, San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College), and assisted Dr. Henry Morris in the founding of the Institute for Creation Research, the nation’s foremost exponent of creationist materials.

LaHaye has written more than 60 non-fiction books on a wide range of subjects such as: family life, temperaments, sexual adjustment, Bible prophecy, the will of God, Jesus Christ, and secular humanism with over 14 million in print, some of which have been translated into 32 foreign languages. His writings are best noted for their easy-to-understand and scripturally based application of biblical principles that assist in facing and handling the challenges of life.

This podcast is dedicated to the memory of Tim LaHaye who had a huge impact on people understanding the end times.
