Does it bug you to see people who call themselves Christians, but who don’t seem to be any different than before?

Does it bug you that you often don’t seem any different than before?

It certainly bugged the Apostle Paul. He wrote: “For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.” (Romans 7:19-20 ESV)

So it seems we can be Christians but not be everything we want to be or are called to be.

On the other hand, Jesus said clearly that “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21 ESV)

Which is it, does becoming a Christian require turning over a new leaf or not?
