Quick Video — The Wilderness Gardens Mill, The Scriptures And The Spirit

The Spirit powers the Scriptures which grind us down so we’re usable by God

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18 NLT)

While with Carolyn hiking at the Wilderness Gardens Preserve recently and seeing the 19th century Sickler Brothers Grist Mill, I had thought:

The San Luis Rey river powered the mill, which turned the millstones and ground the grain so it became useable.In a similar way, the Holy Spirit powers the Scriptures, which grinds down the roughness of our lives and makes us usable in God’s Kingdom.

The Scriptures and the Spirit work together to transform people into usable instruments for God.

Short Video - Falling In Love With Carolyn In Newport Beach

The Bible says, “And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” (Genesis 2:20-25 KJV)

When God created male and female, he did a wonderful thing!

Recently I had a chance to visit one of the places where Carolyn and I spent time when dating and falling in love in 1977 and ’78.

It brought back some great memories of  being there in Newport Beach, California on our very first date and then many other joyous times.

But even better was getting married on August 4, 1979 at Arrowhead Springs, California and spending the last 36 years together as husband and wife!

Short Video - As Far As The East Is From The West

Being forgiven is AWESOME!

The Bible says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12 ESV)

But what does that mean and why is it significant?

In this video shot at the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, California, I explain briefly why the east is from the west is so meaningful.
